SILOET Project

Project Summary

This project is looking at effective hex meshing and mesh adaption.

Meshing is a vital part of the CAE analysis process as the most of the time taken to achieve a CAE solution is used to create a mesh model.  It is therefore the mesh that will influence the accuracy of the solution. 

Mesh adaption is the alteration of an existing mesh in order to detain flow features.  These alterations should improve the resolution of flow features without an unnecessary increase in computational effort.  There are different strategies involved in mesh adaption such as r-refinement, h-refinement and p-refinement.  Combinations of these strategies are also possible.
